“It was a beautiful barracks”

Building 69 circa 1917.

It was a beautiful barracks [Building 69]. We had all single bunks and it was nicely polished and had a nice, big latrine, and it was a large day room where we would read. And there was a pool table in there. We could play pool at night.”
