In the theater, underneath was the bowling alley on one side and on the other side was a rifle range. So we would go and practice there—at  targets, yeah. We weren’t shooting any squirrels. And then we had an archery club that someone started and we did for awhile, right in the Parade Ground, right by the flag.”

We had an indoor shooting range for .22s. And that was at the other end of the post, below the theater on the right-hand side. So, 8, 9 and 10, I was learning how to shoot a rifle, gun safety, appreciation of another skill. And we had people there who were able to help us out.”
