Multi-part, detailed architectural documentation for the Fort Slocum Historic and Archeological District. Documentation of individual buildings and structures includes descriptions, history, maps, photographs and plans. These reports are somewhat technical in nature, and most files are large.

Detailed descriptions and photographs of historic buildings and structures. Part 1 of Volume 3 (Buildings 42-64, rev. 1, October 2008) includes:

  • Building 42 (Recruit Examination Building, 1908)
  • Building 43 (Hospital Sergeants' Quarters, 1910)
  • Building 44 (Non-Commissioned Officers’ Quarters, 1940)
  • Building 45 (Water Tower, 1929)
  • Building 46 (Hospital, 1898)
  • Building 50 (Isolation Hospital, 1909)
  • Building 53 (Sludge Drying Bed Building, 1939)
  • Building 55 (Barracks, 1889)

Buildings 42 through 53 were located in the Hospital Area (Buildings 42-53). Building 55 was in the Barracks Area.

Detailed descriptions and photographs of historic buildings and structures. Part 2 of Volume 3 (Buildings 42-64, rev. 1, October 2008) includes:

  • Building 56 (Guardhouse, 1896)
  • Building 57 (Drill Hall and Gymnasium, also called Raymond Hall, 1909)
  • Building 58 (Barracks, 1932)
  • Building 59 (Barracks, also called Barrett Hall, 1939)
  • Building 60 (Barracks, 1930)
  • Building 61 (Barracks, 1909)
  • Building 62 (Barracks, 1909)
  • Building 63 (Barracks, 1906)
  • Building 64 (Barracks, 1908)

Michael A. Cavanaugh, who is preparing a history of Fort Slocum, refers to Buildings 58 to 60 collectively as the “Trivium” and calls Buildings 61 to 64 the “Quadrivium.” All buildings in this part were located in the Barracks Area.

Detailed descriptions and photographs of historic buildings and structures. Part 1 of Volume 4 (Buildings 65-108, rev. 1, December 2008) includes:

  • Building 65 (Post Bakery, ca. 1909)
  • Building 67 (Mess Hall, 1886)
  • Building 68 (Barracks, 1887)
  • Building 69 (Barracks, 1888)
  • Building 70 (Post Exchange, 1905)

All buildings in this part were located in the Barracks Area.

Buildings 71 through 79 were located in the Drill Field and Recreation Area. The remaining buildings in this part were located in the NCO Family Housing Area.
