Architectural Reports

Multi-part, detailed architectural documentation for the Fort Slocum Historic and Archeological District. Documentation of individual buildings and structures includes descriptions, history, maps, photographs and plans. These reports are somewhat technical in nature, and most files are large.

Overview of the history of Fort Slocum and Davids Island, including description of the geographic context of Davids Island, general historical sketch, discussion of the different building numbering systems and notes on the development of each functional area. The overview also contains a bibliography, location maps, generalized boundary map of the Fort Slocum Historic and Archeological District, and selected historic maps and aerial photographs.
A detailed guide (Table 1) tabulates dates of construction, building numbers, and historical functions of the buildings and structures that were inventoried as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ historic architectural studies. The document is identical to the section entitled “Fort Slocum: Historic Overview” in Fort Slocum Architectural Documentation Volume 1, Part 1.
